Ryland, I was afraid something like this was going on when I hadn''t heard from you or your parents in such a long time. It is hard for mommy and daddy to stay on top of your health issues and keep all of us up to date. We are all just anxious to hear that you are doing well.
I know this first year is hard on you and your family. It is like a roller coaster ride; but as you mature, the ride will get smoother. I am just happy the doctors and nurses are able to get you some relief and back home again.
I am still praying for you and know that you are a "special" little boy with some pretty special needs for right now. You are a tough little guy and someday this will all be in the past.
Tell mommy and daddy to get all the rest they can. It''s not easy being a parent; but they are getting older and wiser with each day.
My grandson, Matthew, will be turning 2 years old in a few weeks and one year has made a big difference in his level of care. His terrible 2 moods are far more significant than his health issues now, and this makes "life good". hee hee
Mommy just told me that I am getting a prezzy? OMG, I do not know what to say! But I know one thing you are ONE LUCKY dude for not having to get that nasty RSV shot. I heard Mommy telling my brother that we have to go one more time until it gets cold again. Just wait I will show Mommy how much I like them when we get to the Dr''s office and I SCREAM as soon as we go in the fishy room. I remember these things now ya know? So, Mommy said she thinks we will be walking soon. But I do not know... I do not like letting things go. And another thing I am not sure about is we are having to use those silly cups with lids. I like Mommy''s better but Dylan makes a mess with Mommy''s cup so she wont let us drink from it often. I am looking forward to naps more because I feel so much bigger when I get up and best of all I have a bah bah when I go to sleep.
Well, I best go get to bed. Mommy said I have to work early in the morning as my OT, Miss Mariette is comint to play with me. SHe thinks I am cute!
Night Night Ryland! I am so happy you are getting so big. Oh my you will weigh more than me soon. After all I am only 14lbs! My brother is 22lbs!
What beautiful babies. My daughter also died on Nec on April 16, 2006. Easter. I am very sorry for your loss. It was so hard to find anyone who had lost their baby from this. I was beginning to think that I was the only one.
With all of my love and prayers,
Hi little man. Just wanted to say hi. I had a great time when I came to see you. You are a beautiful boy. Glad to hear that you have started to gain weight again. I''m still learning my new car that mom and dad got for me, So as soon as I can I''ll come down for another visit I love you guys and I''ll see you soon. Love Grandma
Oh my gosh I am so happy to hear you are okay! My Momm told me that you were having poopy issues and well I had said a poopy prayer to the poopy Gods! I knew they would help you as they did me when I had that second surgery. Hmmm I will have to remember to thank them.
Maybe my sunglasses will help your eyes? Only thing is they are pink. Shhh I will see if I can take my brothers and give them to you. Oh wait Mommy just said that they probably wont work. Hey tell your Daddy to stop spinning you around and that will make them stop!
Just remember I always got my eye on yoy hahah... I am so funny sometimes.
I''m so glad to hear that you now know what is ailing little Ryland. Now he can get on the road to recovery. Then maybe he will feel up to giving us an update in his own words. Seriously, I pray for you all every day. I have no children of my own and don''t think I ever will and somehow little Ryland has pulled on my heartstrings. Thank you for updating and I can''t wait to see what he weighs now. God Bless you all.
just seen the photo of your little man feeding from a bottle,,,,awesome!!
i have good news also,, nikki had the twins on march 7th , both weighed 5lb 12oz , apart from a few blood sugar issues with ruby and a 24 hour stay in neonatal, they are fine , she made it to 36wks 4 days,
take care love debbie x
Meant to ask you about the GI appointment in my last PM... then though oh look here. ANd here we go.
Wishing Master Ryland the best with this new milk. Flush it out lil buddie so you do not have to get a poopy cam! Gosh buddy!
I have been thinking about you all day because of Baby Harrison. He is now with Railey and I am sure they are talking about all of us down here... They are saying... if they only knew how beautiful and safe it is here... they would not worry so much!
Tammy: I can totally see Ryland in Dylan! I really can''t believe how much they look alike! When I see pics of Skylin I can''t help but, to think about Railey! We both were truely blessed! Thank you for sharing I loved looking at all the pics!
I am not sure if it is a preemie thing however I cannot get over how much Ryland looks like my son Dylan.... I will have to get you the link of the preemie pictures we have online... I am on my laptop right now and the link is on my desktop.
Ryland, I am so sorry you have had such a rough few weeks. My grandson Matthew was born early and his immune system was definitely challenged at first, like yours will be. You will outgrow all this, but until I ''ll tell you what Matthew''s mommy and daddy has done for the past two years.
First of all, they really limited the visitors. Everyone was asked if they had a cold or any kind of illness. If yes, thank you, we will see you when you are well. If they are friends and people who love you, they will certainly understand. If no, then "oh well" "So sad, too bad". Then all of us made our first stop to "wash our hands" and put on a disinfectant gel that you buy at the store. I can tell you it worked. I "almost" missed Thanksgiving last year because I had a bad cold.
Mommy and daddy will save "all of you" some real grief if they play a hard ball defense against strangers. In fact, when they visit the pediatrician they asked to wait in a room rather than the waiting room with other sick children. Why cure one thing and then go home with another. All the doctors and nurses were happy to assist in the war against germs. It is certainly worth a try.
Good luck with that old RSV shot. Matthew will probably have his last one. forever, in April. He will be two years old and considered out of the woods.
Hang in there, little guy. You are just too precious and special for words. Your mommy and daddy did a very smart thing by getting a pediatrician that "listens". Daddy is absolutely right. "They know you better than any one". God Bless you, Ryland and your mommy and daddy.
Hey little man. Heard that things are alittle rough down there. Sorry for all the pain you have to endure, but believe me it''s hard on your mom and dad too. I''m coming to see you next week, and I can''t wait to see and hold you. Oh and be ready there will be alot of pictures. I love you all so much, just keep the faith and know that prayers are always going up for you. I will see you soon. Love Grandma
Ryland my grandson, Matthew, also has acid reflux and they inserted a fundoplication in his tummy when he was serveral months old to stop the throwing up.They were afraid he would asperate the milk into his lungs. The only problem with this gadget is after eating he retches a lot. Some kids do and some kids don''t. Matthew''s new GI Specialist just completed a serious of test on Matthew, who is now 21 months old. Everything so far looks normal. I think they are going to test for food allergies next if the endoscopy proves all is normal. It''s not easy, Ryland, being a baby. Even adults have a difficult time finding the correct solutions to health difficulties. They did find out that Matthew was allergic to Soy, so go figure......
Keep growing, little man. We are all so proud of you watching you meet daily challenges and growing like a wild weed. Enjoy your grandma. Grandmas will always be your very "best friend".
Life is good!
Ryland,I''m so glad the new formula is helping your tummy. I sometimes have grown up reflux and I hate it so I can imagine what it''s like for you. Enjoy your time with your Grandma. Grandma''s are very special people and they have special love to give. Soak that up little man. Keep growing and I''m glad you keep updating.
Wow!! When I read the posts about how much Ryland weighs it didn''t really mean a whole lot to me (not knowing anything about babies). But when I see the picture and the videos of you guys holding it I''m so shocked! I couldn''t believe just how small he is. What a little fighter.
Best wishes and hugs to you all.
Congrates on him being home and doing so good. Beleive me that has alot to do with your love for him. We are all soooo happy for you and I know that when Aunt Lila get there she is going to spoil him rotten enough for all of us. Just a little advise "when he sleeps you sleep."
So, I just got up from my busy growing nap and Mommy said I had something come in the mail. I got so excited because I knew what it just ad to be! OMG I was so excited to see my FIRST real Valentine card from my First Valentine. And to think you gave it such a big hug before you sent it with that funny dressed man who takes all the letters and only leaves Mommy bills (that is what she says)...
I am so excited and so happy your home safe and sound. Now to plan my trip to come see you. Mommy said you do not have to wear all the clothes I have to...and that white stuff outside makes it harder for me to see because of my blue eyes.
So, I hope you like my picture I mailed you...sorry my brother had to be in it though.
Oh and Mommy said that your sister looks just like you... you have a very pretty sister!
Ok so as I would love to see Mr. Ryland again I would REALLY like it if he could learn to visit when he gets a lil bigger NOT anymore right now!! I am so glad to hear that he finally went home. I do hope that you guys will bring him by to see us later on..the best to you all.
Ryland- we wanted to tell you that we are so proud of you for sticking through everything!! You are going to be one tough boy!!! =)
Bruce and Crystal- we also wanted you to know that we still pray for you and your family everyday. We are so happy that you have finally gotten to bring your baby boy home! Keep up the great work and always try to stay strong. Let us know if we can ever help!!
Ryland, I love to read your Blog because I can just feel the "love" that surrounds all of you. God has certainly placed you in a very special family. I think the special gift you sent to your mommy was very touching.
Now be a good little boy and be patient with all the doctor''s appointments that are ahead. Because you were a preemie, your outtings will be more frequent than most. Remember, mommy and daddy know what is best for you, so be a good sport and enjoy the ride.
Welcome home little man. Once you get the routine down to a science, you will have a blast!
Good Morining Ryland, Mom and Dad, I''m so glad that your finally home. That also means that it won''t be long before I get to see you. I''m still praying. And tell mom to give me a call when she isn''t sleeping, I know how hard getting alot of rest is, so I don''t want to wake her up when she is sleeping. Love you guys. Talk to you soon. Love Grandma
Oh ya ya blah blah you are home!! Goo gooo I am so excited! Now I have to get Mommy to help me with that thing they call a pen and have her help me write (as I am better at typing) your card. Mommy told me that your Mommy sent us the address.... so start watching your mailbox! Hey soon you will be as big as me! I had a check up today and I am 13lbs 4oz and 26.25" tall!
