OH MY GOSH!!! The "You Know..." ''poem'' is classic....just you wait...I can relate to EVERY one of those things listed....especially the shock of others when you declare the actual (not corrected) age of your 4lb baby...and the sounds and smells never leave you!!!
Keep it up, Ryland! We are cheering for you in Plaucheville!!!
Bruce & Crystal I am so happy to read the news regarding Ryland. It sounds like he is quite a little survivor and has a spunky personality. I have such a good, warm, fuzzy feeling that Ryland will go home with you someday. You are in my prayers daily and I think about you and your family. I know what you are going through. Your messages bring back memories with Matthew. God Bless you! Janet
That''s great to hear that Ryland is not losing weight and that his weight seems to be stable at the moment. Continue to keep us posted. I check this daily. Glad you are all doing well. We are going out of town later this week to Minnesota for four days, so if I don''t check in for a while, that''ll be why. So I''ll have to get all the updates when I get back. So make all the news good news so I have something good to read when I get home. So if we don''t get a chance to talk to you guys beforehand, have a Merry Christmas!
I am soooo glad to hear the great news of Rylands progress. I know that it is all up hill from here. Tell Ryland that we all love and missed him for Christmas at his Great-Grandpas. By the way the pig was GREAT!!!ha ha Love you guys and miss you.
As long as he isn''t losing weight he''s doing great! Just breathing and his body taking care of itself burns so many calories for these little ones!
here is something you will come to laugh at:
You Know you''re a NICU Mom When......
when you tell people about your baby and instead of getting congrats you get appologies
when a 5 lb baby looks enormous to you and a term baby looks about the size of a toddler
when you know your baby''s weight in grams and notice if he/she changes by the equivalent of a teaspoon!
when you can easily explain what Indocin, Epogen, PDA, ROP, CPAP and NEC are
when you know the different types of incubators and what they''re used for
if you have ever went shopping looking for "NICU safe" clothes or had to explain "NICU safe" clothes to another family member.
when you tell people you have a baby in the hospital and then they ask you how old your baby is you say "she is a 24 weeker" and from the look on their face you can tell they think you are saying 32 weeks old and you have to explain about the birth age and the corrected age
when you have 20 preemie bottle with red nipples....
if you have ever bought or considered buying doll clothes for your baby!! ( Nathan actually wore a cabbage patch doll t-shirt once!)
when you use medical terminology in everyday conversations and no one else understands what you just said
when the nice lady at the grocery store asks why you have such a new baby out already and nearly faints when you tell them she''s 6 months
when the smell of some soaps in different restrooms bring your thoughts right back to te NICU
when someone asks you how much a newborn should eat, you tell them in CC''s not ounces
when you celebrate a 1/2 ounce weight gain
when you brag about how big your 7lb 6 month old is
And my NUMBER ONE Favorite
When you are watching House or ER on tv and jump whenever you hear a Brady alarm!
Aunt Linda I tried to call dad to get grandma''s phone number but, there was no answer. I cant get to my cell phone at the moment and I know its on there. So if you would like you can call me. I''m sure grandma has the number. If I dont hear from you/grandma today I will call tomorrow. I''m getting ready to head up to the hosptial so I will be in contact soon!! Also, I dont have your email address or I would have contacted to you that way. Mine is email@example.com if you would like to email me!
"HI ALL-GLAD TO HERE MASTER RYLAND IS DOING WELL!!!WE ALL ARE THINKING ABOUT YOU.(ALL)WE''RE HERE FOR YOU ANYTIME YOU NEED US OR ANYTHING,WE HAVE SOMETHINGS TO SEND RYLAND-HOPEFULLY I''LL GET THEM OUT THIS WEEK (IF THAT''S OK WITH YOU?)WE

Ryland is such a handsome boy...I look forward to the new pictures. I am so glad things are continuing to progress...Keep pouring on the love. I DO believe that helps!!
P.S. Since I adopted YOUR mom, I consider Ryland my nephew so I will be Nana to him...just like my other nieces and nephews. Just wanted to make sure that when you talk to him about me that you refer to me correctly...and I KNOW you talk about me alllll the time...haha
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, RYLAND!!!! We love you! yeah, we like your mom and dad too....
Hey Bruce and Crystal. I am glad to hear that Ryland is moving up to where they feel he needs less care. That''s great to hear he is gaining weight and growing up now. I''m very glad to hear they think the heart murmur will close on its own and they will not have to do much for now. But I pray that if anything needs to be done in the future, God will give the doctors the wisdom and knowledge to know exactly what to do at exactly the right time to do it so things will continue to go as smoothly as possible. That poem was beautiful that Crystal got from her message board. I enjoy the new look and color of your site. Keep us updated on Ryland and all your experiences with him. I''m glad everything this week has stayed positive and hope it continues to be that way.
We just want to thank everyone for taking the time to think/pray for all our little ones. We appreciate it very much. We seem to be doing pretty well although we do have our bad times/days. Special thanks to everyone that sent flowers and cards. I plan to take pictures of them and post them with who sent them. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
I haven''t called because I felt that you have enough to deal with but please don''t ever think that you aren''t constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I don''t understand and can never imagine what the two of you are going through. Know that I am always here if you would like to talk and that I love you all immensely. I read the updates daily and have several people praying for the two of you and for Ryland.
That poem is beautiful and I could feel Railey and Trace smiling as they spend Christmas with Jeasus.
I am so happy Master Ryland is pooping on schedule again. I am sorry he was desating while your where there. My two used to do the same thing while eating. Their little bellies get so full and press on their little lungs. Have they tried to increase the O2 so you could hold him longer!
Also way to go on moving pods!!! I continue to pray for all of you!

A friend in Northern Palm Beach County who signed your guestbook several days ago sent an email to me with your link.
I lost one of my identical twin girls to complications from Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome five years ago. I would be glad to offer my support as you go through this horrific time. Only those that have been initiated in the "club" to which they did not ask to be part of can truly understand the impact. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish. I have many resources, and as my friend mentioned in her share, there are three of us within a twenty mile radius who have gone through the loss of a twin. We have rallied for each other, and we will reach out if you ever you desire that.
Lisa (West Palm Beach)
When I read your story, and saw your page, I couldn''t help but send out prayer requests to my friends and family, for your family. I cannot fatham what you are going through, and as an expectant mother of twins, and just as a mom, a woman, friend in faith, my heart goes out to you. God Bless you and your precious babies!
